    The yoga room in LIC is a beautiful space to practice. The hot studio has a good deal of natural light and always smells nice and clean. This studio has mirrors, which is a feature I usually avoid for yoga, but it is incredibly helpful in my traditional hot practice and a tool which is appreciated. The front staff is kind when I enter and remembers my name even though I'm only in once a week. I come here for one class only, Brian Nygard's Hot 60 on Friday afternoon. His guidance has been essential in developing my practice. I appreciate that he is honest in correction, gentle in theory, and joyous in general. He allows a student to develop in his or her own way, while reminding us that we fit ourselves and that every attempt is an opportunity for insight. I hope to continue this journey for a long time. My yoga is not about a space or a teacher, but if I'm gonna climb the mountain I want a great guide and a good view.
